theaspirer Association has a unique history. It is a division of the United States Golf Teachers Federation (USGTF) which incorporates overlarge amount of members worldwide. Having trained and certified golf teaching professionals for twenty-four years, it was a natural evolution to now provide online golf management information for owners, managers, club pros and golf course staff.

At the turn of the 20th century, with golf becoming more popular and golf courses becoming more prevalent, the profession of golf club management began to evolve. they did not provide specific education for golf club managers. Instead, they focused on training individuals who ran the pro shop, gave lessons and played golf with the members. Those actually managing golf courses were hired by golf club owners based on their outside business experience in management. Many of these individuals were either past or present golf club members, friends and associates who owners knew and felt comfortable with. This trend in hiring golf club managers mostly continues to this day.

Over the past 15 years however, more attention to the realm of officially training golf club managers has evolved. This includes many colleges and universities now offering two and three year golf club management courses. And although some of these entities find employment for their students, they are not club management jobs but mostly minimum wage entry level jobs as golf cart personnel, pro shop counter staff etc.
